     Sir William Lowther was the son of Sir John Lowther and Eleanor Fleming.¹ He married Jane Busfeild, daughter of William Busfeild.² He died on 1 February 1686/87.²
     He lived at Swillington, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Great Preston, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Garforth, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pontefract between 1661 and 1678.¹ He also had four other daughters.¹

     Jane Busfeild was born in 1615.¹ She is the daughter of William Busfeild.² She married Sir William Lowther, son of Sir John Lowther and Eleanor Fleming.³
     She was also known as Jane Busfield.⁴

     Sir John Lowther, 1st Bt. was born on 20 February 1605 at Lowther Hall, Lowther, Westmorland, England^G.² He was the son of Sir John Lowther and Eleanor Fleming. He married, secondly, Elizabeth Hare, daughter of Sir John Hare and Hon. Elizabeth Coventry.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Fletcher, daughter of Sir Richard Fletcher and Barbara Crackanthorpe, before 1655.³ He died on 30 November 1675 at age 70.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland from 1628 to 1629.² He was created 1st Baronet Lowther, of Lowther, co. Westmorland [Nova Scotia] in 1638.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland in 1660.² He held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland from 1661 to 1662.² He lived at Ackworth Moor Top, Yorkshire, England^G.

     Mary Fletcher is the daughter of Sir Richard Fletcher and Barbara Crackanthorpe.¹ She married Sir John Lowther, 1st Bt., son of Sir John Lowther and Eleanor Fleming, before 1655.¹
     From before 1655, her married name became Lowther.¹

     Elizabeth Hare was the daughter of Sir John Hare and Hon. Elizabeth Coventry.^1,2 She married, secondly, Sir John Lowther, 1st Bt., son of Sir John Lowther and Eleanor Fleming.¹ She married, firstly, Woolley Leigh.³ She died before 21 October 1699.³
     Her married name became Leigh. Her married name became Lowther.¹

     Sir John Lowther was born before 1590 at Lowther Hall, Lowther, Westmorland, England^G.² He was the son of Sir Christopher Lowther and Eleanor Musgrave.¹ He married Eleanor Fleming, daughter of William Fleming, circa 1601.^2,1 He died on 15 September 1637.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland.¹

     Eleanor Fleming was born circa 1568.² She was the daughter of William Fleming.¹ She married Sir John Lowther, son of Sir Christopher Lowther and Eleanor Musgrave, circa 1601.^2,1
     From circa 1601, her married name became Lowther.^2,1

     Sir Christopher Lowther, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir John Lowther and Eleanor Fleming.¹ He married Frances Lancaster, daughter of Christopher Lancaster.¹ He died in September 1644.¹
     He held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland in 1640.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Lowther, of Whitehaven [England] on 11 June 1642.¹

     Sir Christopher Lowther was born on 8 September 1557 at Lowther Hall, Lowther, Westmorland, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Lowther and Frances Midleton.¹ He married, firstly, Eleanor Middleton.² He married, secondly, Eleanor Musgrave, daughter of William Musgrave, in 1576.¹ He died in 1617 at Lowther Hall, Lowther, Westmorland, England^G.¹
     He was member of the Council of the North.²
