     Gladys Mabel Lowther was born on 22 October 1908.¹ She is the daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Gerald Augustus Lowther, 1st and last Bt. and Alice Blight.^1,2 She married, firstly, Captain Charles Nevile Fane, son of Major Henry Nevile Fane and Hon. Harriet Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis, on 20 December 1933.² She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. James Hayton Greenhill Black, son of Robert Greenhill Black of Ardmay, on 14 February 1942.²
     From 20 December 1933, her married name became Fane. From 14 February 1942, her married name became Black.

     Violet Eleanor Lowther was born on 20 September 1910.¹ She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Gerald Augustus Lowther, 1st and last Bt. and Alice Blight.¹ She died on 17 January 1911.¹

     George Augustus Clavering-Cowper, 4th Earl Cowper was born on 9 August 1776.¹ He was the son of George Nassau Clavering-Cowper, 3rd Earl Cowper and Hannah Anne Gore.^1,2 He died on 12 February 1799 at age 22, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Cowper, of Ratlin Court, co. Kent [E., 1642] on 22 December 1789.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Cowper, of Wingham, co. Kent [E., 1706] on 22 December 1789.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Earl Cowper [G.B., 1718] on 22 December 1789.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Fordwich, co. Kent [G.B., 1718] on 22 December 1789.¹ He graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1795 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³

     Lady Elizabeth Fane was born on 7 January 1770.¹ She was the daughter of John Fane, 9th Earl of Westmorland and Lady Susan Gordon.¹ She married Sir John Lowther, 1st Bt., son of Rev. Sir William Lowther, 1st Bt. and Anne Zouch, on 4 September 1790.¹ She died on 19 May 1844 at age 74.¹
     Her married name became Lowther.
