George Brooke, 9th Lord Cobham (of Kent)1 
He was appointed Knight Bachelor in July 1523 by the Earl of Surrey, after the capture of Morlaix.2 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Cobham, Kent [E., 1313] in November 1529.1 In 1536 he sat as one of the 27 peers for the trial of Queen Anne Boleyn.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1546, against the Scots, under the Earl of Hertford.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 24 April 1549.4 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 23 May 1550.3 He was accused of complicity in Sir Thomas Wyatt’s rebellion, but was exonerated and released.1 He received large grants of land after the Dissolution of the Monasteries.1 His last will was dated 13 January 1557/58.

William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) was born on 1 November 1527.3 He was the son of George Brooke, 9th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Anne Bray.1 He married, firstly, Lady Dorothy Neville, daughter of George Neville, 3rd Lord Abergavenny and Lady Mary Stafford, before 1559.4 He married, secondly, Frances Newton, daughter of Sir John Newton and Margaret Poyntz, on 25 February 1559/60 at Palace of Westminster, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3,5 He died on 6 March 1596/97 at age 69.3 He was buried at Cobham Church, Cobham, Kent, EnglandG.6 His will was proven (by probate) on 23 May 1597.6
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hythe between 1547 and 1552.5 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rochester in 1555.5 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Kent between 1558 and 1596.5 He succeeded as the 10th Lord Cobham, Kent [E., 1313] in November 1558.3 He held the office of Constable of Dover.3 He held the office of Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports.3 He held the office of Ambassador to the Spanish Governor of the Netherlands in 1578.5 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 23 April 1584.3,5 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) before 12 February 1585/86.5 He held the office of Ambassador to the Spanish Governor of the Netherlands in 1588.5 He held the office of Lord Chamberlain from August 1596 to 1597.3,5 His last will was dated 24 February 1596/97.

Henry Brooke, 11th Lord Cobham (of Kent)1 

Henry Brooke, 11th Lord Cobham (of Kent) was born on 22 November 1564.3 He was the son of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton.1 He married Lady Frances Howard, daughter of Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham and Katherine Carey, circa 27 May 1601.3 He died on 24 January 1618/19 at age 54 at Tower of London, London, EnglandG, without issue.4
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kent from 1588 to 1589.3,5 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hedon, East Riding of Yorkshire in 1593.3,5 He held the office of Warden of the Cinque Ports between 1597 and July 1603.5 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Cobham, Kent [E., 1313] in October 1597.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 23 April 1599.3,5 In 1604 he was attainted with his brother George and his honours forfeited (including hisknighthood of the Garter). He was not executed but imprisoned in the Tower of London until his death.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.6
