Reverend George Brooke1 
He was given the name of George Cobham at birth.1 He matriculated at King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1580.2 He graduated from King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1586 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Prebendary of York.4 In July 1603 he was arrested and sent to the Tower for his involvement in the Bye plot.2 In 1604 he was attainted.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.5

Sir William Brooke1

In 1609 he was restored in blood but not to the barony of Cobham.2 He succeeded as the 12th Lord Cobham [E., 1313] in 1619, although the barony was still subject to the attainder of his uncle, the 11th Lord.4 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 1 February 1625/26.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rochester from 1628 to 1629.2 He lived at Cooling, Kent, EnglandG.2 He lived at Sterborough, Surrey, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Battle of Newbury on 20 September 1643.3
On his death, the barony of Cobham (already under attainder) fell into abeyance between his four daugthers and coheirs.2

Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury was born on 1 June 1563.3 He was the son of William Cecil, 1st Baron of Burghley and Mildred Cooke.4 He married Hon. Elizabeth Brooke, daughter of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton, on 31 August 1589.3 He died on 24 May 1612 at age 48.3
