     Reverend George Brooke was born on 17 April 1568 at Cobham, Kent, England^G.² He was the son of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton.^3,4 He married Elizabeth Burgh, daughter of Thomas Burgh, 3rd Lord Burgh and Frances Vaughan, after 17 January 1598/99.² He died on 5 December 1603 at age 35 at Winchester, Hampshire, England^G, executed for high treason.²
     He was given the name of George Cobham at birth.¹ He matriculated at King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1580.² He graduated from King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1586 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He held the office of Prebendary of York.⁴ In July 1603 he was arrested and sent to the Tower for his involvement in the Bye plot.² In 1604 he was attainted.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁵
     

     Elizabeth Burgh was the daughter of Thomas Burgh, 3rd Lord Burgh and Frances Vaughan.¹ She married, firstly, Reverend George Brooke, son of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton, after 17 January 1598/99.² She married, secondly, Francis Reade, son of Sir William Reade, before 24 October 1605.¹
     From after 17 January 1599, her married name became Brooke. From before 24 October 1605, her married name became Reade.

     Sir William Brooke was baptised on 1 December 1601.² He was the son of Reverend George Brooke and Elizabeth Burgh.² He married, firstly, Pembroke Lennard, daughter of Sir Henry Lennard, 12th Lord Dacre and Chrysogona Baker.² He married, secondly, Penelope Hill, daughter of Sir Moyses Hill and Alice MacDonnel, before 1642.¹ He died on 20 September 1643 at age 41 at Newbury, Berkshire, England^G, from wounds received in action.^2,3 He died on 20 September 1643 at age 41, all his descendants becoming extinct 1747 bar those through his 2nd daughter (by his 2nd w):.²
     In 1609 he was restored in blood but not to the barony of Cobham.² He succeeded as the 12th Lord Cobham [E., 1313] in 1619, although the barony was still subject to the attainder of his uncle, the 11th Lord.⁴ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 1 February 1625/26.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rochester from 1628 to 1629.² He lived at Cooling, Kent, England^G.² He lived at Sterborough, Surrey, England^G.² He fought in the Battle of Newbury on 20 September 1643.³
     On his death, the barony of Cobham (already under attainder) fell into abeyance between his four daugthers and coheirs.²

     Hon. Elizabeth Brooke was born on 1 January 1562/63.² She was the daughter of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton.¹ She married Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury, son of William Cecil, 1st Baron of Burghley and Mildred Cooke, on 31 August 1589.² She died on 24 January 1596/97 at age 34.¹
     Her married name became Cecil.

     Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury was born on 1 June 1563.³ He was the son of William Cecil, 1st Baron of Burghley and Mildred Cooke.⁴ He married Hon. Elizabeth Brooke, daughter of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton, on 31 August 1589.³ He died on 24 May 1612 at age 48.³

      He wrote the book The State and Dignitie of a Secretaire of Estate’s Place, published 1642.³

     Hon. Frances Brooke was the daughter of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton.¹ She married, firstly, John Stourton, 9th Baron Stourton, son of Charles Stourton, 8th Baron Stourton and Lady Anne Stanley, circa 1580.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Edward Moore, son of John More and Agnes Moulton, after 1588.¹
     After her marriage, Hon. Frances Brooke was styled as Baroness Stourton circa 1580. From circa 1580, her married name became Stourton. From after 1588, her married name became Moore.¹

     Hon. Margaret Brooke was born in 1563.² She was the daughter of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton.¹ She married Sir Thomas Sondes.¹ She died in 1621.²
     Her married name became Sondes.¹

     Sir Thomas Sondes was born in 1544.² He married Hon. Margaret Brooke, daughter of William Brooke, 10th Lord Cobham (of Kent) and Frances Newton.¹ He died circa 1592.
     He lived at Throwley, Kent, England^G.³

     Pembroke Lennard was the daughter of Sir Henry Lennard, 12th Lord Dacre and Chrysogona Baker.^1,2 She married Sir William Brooke, son of Reverend George Brooke and Elizabeth Burgh.¹ She died in 1643.³
     Her married name became Brooke.

     Pembroke Brooke was baptised on 1 October 1626.¹ She was the daughter of Sir William Brooke and Pembroke Lennard.¹ She married Sir Matthew Tomlinson, son of John Thomlinson and Eleanor Dodsworth.¹ She died on 10 June 1683 at age 56.¹
     Her married name became Tomlinson.
