Friederike Karoline Luise Prinzessin von Hessen-Darmstadt was born on 20 August 1752.3 She was the daughter of Georg Wilhelm Landgraf von Hessen-Darmstadt and Marie Luise Gräfin zu Leiningen-Dagsburg-Heidesheim. She married Karl II Großherzog von Mecklenburg-Strelitz, son of Karl Ludwig Friedrich Großherzog von Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Elisabeth Albertine von Sachsen-Hildburghausen, on 8 September 1768.3 She died on 22 May 1782 at age 29.3
She gained the title of Prinzessin von Hessen-Darmstadt.1
