Cecilie Auguste Marie Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Schwerin was born on 20 September 1886 at Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, GermanyG.1 She was the daughter of Friedrich Franz III Großherzog von Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Anastasiya Mikhailovna Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia.1 She married Wilhelm, Deutscher Kronprinz, Kronprinz von Preußen, son of Wilhelm II, Deutscher Kaiser, König von Preußen and Auguste Viktoria Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, on 6 June 1905.1 She died on 6 May 1954 at age 67 at Bad Kissingen, Bayern, GermanyG.1
She gained the title of Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

Ludwig Ferdinand Prinz von Preußen was born on 9 November 1907 at Marmorpalais, Potsdam, Brandenburg, GermanyG.1 He was the son of Wilhelm, Deutscher Kronprinz, Kronprinz von Preußen and Cecilie Auguste Marie Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Schwerin. He married Kira Kirillovna Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia, daughter of Kirill Vladmirovich Romanov, Grand Duke of Russia and Victoria Melita Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of the United Kingdom, on 2 May 1938 at Cecilienhof Palace, Potsdam, Brandenburg, GermanyG, in a civil and Orthodox marriage, They were remarried two days later in a Lutheran ceremony, at Doorn.1 He died on 27 September 1994 at age 86.
He was given the name of Ludwig Ferdinand Viktor Eduard Albert Michael Hubertus at birth.1
