Hon. Elizabeth Roper1
She harboured the Jesuit Robert Gerard at her husband’s house at Harrowden.2 From 25 July 1585, her married name became Vaux. Between 1611 and 1613 she was imprisoned as a suspect in the Gunpowder Plot.2
