     Captain John Campbell Watson was born on 30 May 1866 at Plymouth, Devon, England.² He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir George Willes Watson and Sarah Jane Margaretta Campbell.² He was baptised on 27 June 1866.² He married Violet Mildred Davis in 1903 at Medway, Kent, England.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹
