He married, firstly, Nesta Mary Blackett, daughter of John Charles Blackett and Emily Jane Cockcraft, on 15 December 1898. He and Nesta Mary Blackett were divorced in 1920.1 He married, secondly, Elspeth Phelps on 4 December 1920. He died on 7 April 1937 at age 76, without issue.2
     He was given the name of Lionel Charles Lane Lane Fox at birth.2 On 25 May 1880 his name was legally changed to Lionel Charles Lane Fox-Pitt by Royal Licence.2 He lived at Cliff House, Shaftesbury, Dorset, EnglandG.1
