Mary Sheila Gibbs was born on 8 March 1927.1 She was the daughter of Reverend John Stanley Gibbs and Mary Rosamond McCorquodale.1 She married John Charles Sholto Douglas, 21st Earl of Morton, son of Hon. Charles William Sholto Douglas and Florence Timson, on 20 September 1949.1,3 She died on 1 May 2016 at age 89.4
Her married name became Douglas. After her marriage, Mary Sheila Gibbs was styled as Countess of Morton on 13 February 1976.
