Lady Henrietta Frances Spencer was born on 16 June 1761 at Wimbledon, London, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of John Spencer, 1st Earl Spencer and Margaret Georgiana Poyntz.1 She was baptised on 25 July 1761 at Wimbledon, London, EnglandG.3 She married Frederick Ponsonby, 3rd Earl of Bessborough, son of William Ponsonby, 2nd Earl of Bessborough and Lady Caroline Cavendish, on 27 November 1780 at St. James’s, Westminster, London, EnglandG.4,1 She died on 11 November 1821 at age 60 at Florence, ItalyG.4,1 She died on 14 November 1821 at age 60.5 She was buried at Cavendish Vault, Derby, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1
From 27 November 1780, her married name became Ponsonby. After her marriage, Lady Henrietta Frances Spencer was styled as Countess of Bessborough on 11 March 1793.

Frederick Ponsonby, 3rd Earl of Bessborough was born on 24 January 1758.1 He was the son of William Ponsonby, 2nd Earl of Bessborough and Lady Caroline Cavendish.1 He was baptised on 21 February 1758 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.1 He married Lady Henrietta Frances Spencer, daughter of John Spencer, 1st Earl Spencer and Margaret Georgiana Poyntz, on 27 November 1780 at St. James’s, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3,1 He died on 3 February 1844 at age 86 at Canford House, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He was buried at Canford House, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He was buried at Hatherop, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 28 June 1846.4

Leicester [G.B., 1749] on 11 March 1793.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Bessborough [I., 1739] on 11 March 1793.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Bessborough, of Bessborough, co. Kilkenny [I., 1721] on 11 March 1793.1
