George Edward Stanhope Molyneux Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon was born on 26 June 1866 at 66 Grosvenor Street, London, EnglandG.3 He was the son of Henry Howard Molyneux Herbert, 4th Earl of Carnarvon and Lady Evelyn Stanhope.4 He married Almina Victoria Marie Alexandra Wombwell, daughter of Captain Frederick Charles Wombwell and Marie Boyer, on 26 June 1895 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, EnglandG.3 He died on 5 April 1923 at age 56 at Cairo, EgyptG, from the effects of a mosquito bite.5 He was buried on 30 April 1923 at Beacon Hill, Highclere Castle, Newbury, Berkshire, EnglandG.5 His will was proven (by probate) in May 1923, at £398,925 gross and £274,376 net.5

Almina Victoria Marie Alexandra Wombwell was born circa 1877.2 She was the daughter of Captain Frederick Charles Wombwell and Marie Boyer.3,2 She married, firstly, George Edward Stanhope Molyneux Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon, son of Henry Howard Molyneux Herbert, 4th Earl of Carnarvon and Lady Evelyn Stanhope, on 26 June 1895 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, EnglandG.4 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Ian Onslow Dennistoun on 19 December 1923 at St. George’s Register Office, London, EnglandG.2,5 She died on 8 May 1969 at Bristol, England.2,1
In 1895 She received a £500,000 dowry from Alfred de Rothschild.1 From 26 June 1895, her married name became Herbert. After her marriage, Almina Victoria Marie Alexandra Wombwell was styled as Countess of Carnarvon on 26 June 1895. From 19 December 1923, her married name became Dennistoun.
