     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 7th Hussars.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baron Porchester of Highclere, co.      Jean Margaret Wallop was born on 29 April 1934.³ She was the daughter of Hon. Oliver Malcolm Wallop and Jean Moore.³ She married Henry George Reginald Molyneux Herbert, 7th Earl of Carnarvon, son of Lt.-Col. Henry George Alfred Marius Victor Francis Herbert, 6th Earl of Carnarvon and Anne Catherine Tredick Wendell, on 7 January 1956.¹ She died on 11 April 2019 at age 84.⁴
     Her married name became Herbert. After her marriage, Jean Margaret Wallop was styled as Countess of Carnarvon in 1987. She lived in 2003 at Milford Lake House, Newbury, Berkshire, England^G.³ She lived in 2003 at Highclere Castle, Newbury, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     Hon. Oliver Malcolm Wallop was born on 10 May 1905.^2,3 He was the son of Oliver Henry Wallop, 8th Earl of Portsmouth and Marguerite Walker.² He married, firstly, Jean Moore, daughter of Edward Small Moore, on 1 June 1929.² He married, secondly, Alberta Jannapolis on 26 September 1944.² He and Alberta Jannapolis were divorced in 1954.² He married, thirdly, Carolyn Towle, daughter of Harvey Parker Towle, on 25 September 1954.² He died on 16 April 1980 at age 74 at U.S.A.^2,3
