He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He fought in the Boer War, he was mentioned in despatches.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He was commander of the 6th London Infantry Brigade, Territorial Forces between 1908 and 1912.2 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.)1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.2 He was director of Leslie and Godwin, insurance brokers.2 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Kinloch, of Gilmerton [N.S., 1686] on 11 March 1912.2 He was commander of the 70th Infantry Brigade.2 He fought in the First World War, he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was Lieutenant Colonel and Brevet Colonel of the 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier-General in 1917 in the 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
