     Hon. Sophie Hannah Elizabeth Best was born on 18 November 1985.¹ She is the daughter of John Philip Robert Best, 9th Baron Wynford and Fenella Christian Mary Danks.¹

     Marguerite Thorold was born on 16 August 1876.² She was the daughter of Captain Cecil Thorold and Annie Charlotte Claremont.¹ She married, firstly, Hon. Maurice Raymond Gifford, son of Robert Francis Gifford, 2nd Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s and Hon. Swinburne Frederica Charlotte FitzHardinge Berkeley, on 21 September 1897.¹ She married, secondly, Lieutenant George Hugh Rayner on 20 April 1920.¹ She died on 9 January 1958 at age 81.¹
     From 21 September 1897, her married name became Gifford. From 20 April 1920, her married name became Rayner.

     Captain Cecil Thorold was born on 5 October 1847.² He was the son of Sir John Charles Thorold, 11th Bt. and Elizabeth Frances Thoroton-Hildyard.² He married Annie Charlotte Claremont, daughter of General Edward Stopford Claremont and Frances Charlotte Wetherall, on 2 September 1875.² He died on 26 February 1895 at age 47.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Life Guards.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)² He lived at Boothby Hall, Grantham, Lincolnshire, England^G.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)²

     Lieutenant George Hugh Rayner married Marguerite Thorold, daughter of Captain Cecil Thorold and Annie Charlotte Claremont, on 20 April 1920.¹ He died on 19 February 1941.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment.¹

     Annie Charlotte Claremont was born in 1853.² She was the daughter of General Edward Stopford Claremont and Frances Charlotte Wetherall.^1,2 She married, thirdly, John Felix Riley.¹ She married, firstly, Captain Cecil Thorold, son of Sir John Charles Thorold, 11th Bt. and Elizabeth Frances Thoroton-Hildyard, on 2 September 1875.¹ She married, secondly, Ralph Henry Seymour Hall, son of Lt.-Gen. Julian Hamilton Hall and Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa Fremantle, on 25 September 1902.¹ She died on 8 February 1913.¹
     Her married name became Riley.¹ From 2 September 1875, her married name became Thorold. From 25 September 1902, her married name became Hall.

     General Edward Stopford Claremont was born on 23 January 1819 at Paris, France.² He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Hon. Sir Edward Stopford and Anais Pauline Nathalie Aubert.² He married Frances Charlotte Wetherall, daughter of Colonel George Augustus Wetherall and Frances Diana Denton, on 14 October 1843 at Doncaster, Yorkshire, England.² He died on 16 July 1890 at age 71 at Paris, France.²
     He was given the name of Edward Charles John Stopford at birth.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1855.¹ He gained the rank of General in 1881.²

     Ralph Henry Seymour Hall was born on 12 June 1868.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Julian Hamilton Hall and Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa Fremantle.² He married Annie Charlotte Claremont, daughter of General Edward Stopford Claremont and Frances Charlotte Wetherall, on 25 September 1902.¹ He died on 29 January 1903 at age 34, without issue.¹

     Clive Freshwater married Sally Fraser, daughter of Donald Stuart Denholm Fraser and Myrtle Josephine Ward, in 1971.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Julian Hamilton Hall was born on 17 January 1837.² He was the son of Sir John Hall of Dunglass, 5th Bt. and Julia Walker.² He married Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa Fremantle, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle and Agnes Lyon, on 6 July 1864.¹ He died on 15 August 1911 at age 74.¹
     He fought in the Crimean War.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Coldstream Guards.¹
