     Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa Fremantle was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle and Agnes Lyon.¹ She married Lt.-Gen. Julian Hamilton Hall, son of Sir John Hall of Dunglass, 5th Bt. and Julia Walker, on 6 July 1864.¹ She died on 1 March 1906.¹
     Her married name became Hall.

     Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle was born on 17 January 1790.¹ He was the son of Colonel Stephen Francis William Fremantle and Albinia Jane Jefferyes.¹ He married Agnes Lyon, daughter of David Lyon, on 17 January 1829.¹ He died before 1864.
     He fought in the Peninsular Wars, as Aide-de-Camp to the Duke of Wellington.¹ He fought in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He gained the rank of Major-General.¹

     Sir John Hall of Dunglass, 5th Bt. was born on 16 September 1787.² He was the son of Sir James Hall of Dunglass, 4th Bt. and Lady Helen Hamilton Douglas.² He married Julia Walker, daughter of James Walker, on 28 January 1823.² He died on 2 April 1860 at age 72.²
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Hall, of Dunglass [N.S., 1687] on 23 June 1832.² He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)²

     Julia Walker was the daughter of James Walker.¹ She married Sir John Hall of Dunglass, 5th Bt., son of Sir James Hall of Dunglass, 4th Bt. and Lady Helen Hamilton Douglas, on 28 January 1823.² She died on 3 October 1874.²
     From 28 January 1823, her married name became Hall.

     James Walker lived at Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.²

     Agnes Lyon was the daughter of David Lyon.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. John Fremantle, son of Colonel Stephen Francis William Fremantle and Albinia Jane Jefferyes, on 17 January 1829.¹ She died on 20 February 1864.¹
     Her married name became Fremantle.

     Sir Thomas William Clinton Murdoch was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)²

     Commnander Charles Maurice Elton Gifford, 5th Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s was born on 4 March 1899.¹ He was the son of Hon. Maurice Raymond Gifford and Marguerite Thorold.¹ He married Ellice Margaret Allen, daughter of Arthur Wigram Allen, on 5 March 1939.¹ He died on 16 April 1961 at age 62.¹
     He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of New South Wales between 1930 and 1935.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s, co. Devon [U.K., 1824] on 29 January 1937.¹ He gained the rank of Commnader in the Royal Navy. He was chairman and managing director of Theatre Tickets and Messengers Ltd.¹

     Ellice Margaret Allen was the daughter of Arthur Wigram Allen.¹ She married Commnander Charles Maurice Elton Gifford, 5th Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s, son of Hon. Maurice Raymond Gifford and Marguerite Thorold, on 5 March 1939.¹ She died in 1990.¹
     After her marriage, Ellice Margaret Allen was styled as Baroness Gifford of St. Leonard’s on 5 March 1939. From 5 March 1939, her married name became Gifford.
