Matthew White Ridley, 1st Viscount Ridley1 
Matthew White Ridley, 1st Viscount Ridley was born on 25 July 1842.1 He was the son of Sir Matthew White Ridley, 4th Bt. and Cecilia Anne Parke.1 He married Hon. Mary Georgiana Marjoribanks, daughter of Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks, 1st Baron Tweedmouth of Edington and Isabella Hogg, on 10 December 1873.3 He died on 28 November 1904 at age 62.1
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for North Northumberland between 1868 and 1885.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet White [G.B., 1756] on 25 September 1877.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary, Home Department between 1878 and 1880.1 He held the office of Financial Secretary, Treasury between 1885 and 1886.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Blackpool between 1886 and 1901.1 He held the office of Home Secretary between 1895 and 1900.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northumberland.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was created 1st Viscount Ridley [U.K.] on 19 December 1900.1 He was created 1st Baron Wensleydale, of Blagdon and Blyth, co. Northumberland [U.K.] on 19 December 1900.1

Henry Edward Cubitt, 4th Baron Ashcombe was born on 31 March 1924.1 He was the son of Roland Calvert Cubitt, 3rd Baron Ashcombe and Sonia Rosemary Keppel.1 He married, firstly, Ghislaine Dresselhuys, daughter of Cornelius William Dresselhuys and Edith Merandon du Plessis, on 12 September 1955.1 He and Ghislaine Dresselhuys were divorced in 1968.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Virginia Carington, daughter of Peter Alexander Rupert Carington, 6th Baron Carrington of Upton and Iona Ellen McClean, on 1 January 1973 at Kensington Register Office, Kensington, London, EnglandG.1,3 He and Hon. Virginia Carington were divorced in 1979.1 He married, thirdly, Mary Elizabeth Chipps, daughter of Dr. Henry Davis Chipps, on 29 March 1979.1 He died on 4 December 2013 at age 89.3
Henry Edward Cubitt, 4th Baron Ashcombe also went by the nick-name of Harry.4 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Royal Air Force.4 He held the office of Consul-General for Monaco to London between 1961 and 1968.4 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Ashcombe, of Dorking, Surrey and of Bodiam Castle, Sussex [U.K., 1892] on 28 October 1962.1 He lived at Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.4
