Ludovic Stuart, 2nd Duke of Lennox was born on 29 September 1574.1 He was the son of Esmé Stuart, 1st Duke of Lennox and Catherine de Balsac.1 He married, firstly, Lady Sophia Ruthven, daughter of William Ruthven, 1st Earl of Gowrie and Dorothea Stewart, circa 1586.1 He married, secondly, Jean Campbell, daughter of Sir Matthew Campbell of Loudoun and Isabel Drummond, circa August 1598.3 He married, thirdly, Hon. Frances Howard, daughter of Thomas Howard, 1st Viscount Howard of Bindon and Mabel Burton, on 16 June 1621.1 He died on 16 February 1624 at age 49, without legitimate issue.1 He was buried at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.
