Agnes Elizabeth Southwell was born in 1730.2 She was the daughter of John Southwell and Sarah Rose.1 She married John Wandesford, 1st and last Earl Wandesford, son of George Wandesford, 4th Viscount Castlecomer and Susanna Griffith, on 11 August 1750.1 She died on 21 April 1781 at Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1 Her will was proven (by probate) in 1784.1
Her married name became Wandesford. After her marriage, Agnes Elizabeth Southwell was styled as Viscountess Castlecomer on 25 June 1751. After her marriage, Agnes Elizabeth Southwell was styled as Countess Wandesford on 15 August 1758.

He succeeded as the 10th Viscount Thurles [I., 1536] on 30 December 1795.2 He succeeded as the 18th Earl of Ormonde [I., 1328] on 30 December 1795.2 He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Ossory [I., 1528] on 30 December 1795.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1797.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of St. Patrick (K.P.) in 1798.2 He was created 1st Baron Butler of Lanthony, co. Monmouth [U.K.] on 20 January 1801.1 In 1810 he sold back to the crown his right of prisage over the wines of Ireland for £216,000. This right had been granted to his ancestor, the 4th hereditary Butelr, by King Edward I.2 He was created 1st Marquess of Ormonde [U.K.] in January 1816.1 On his death, his U.K. Barony and Marquessate became extinct.1
