He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1833 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 9 May 1833.2 On 22 August 1833 he succeeded his 4th cousin, Sir H. J. Goodricke, Bt., to the estate of Ravensdale Park.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Louth in 1839.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for County Louth between 1840 and 1841.1 He was created 1st Baron Clermont of Dromisken, co. Louth [Ireland] on 11 February 1852, with a special remainder to his brother.1 He was created 1st Baron Clermont of Clermont Park, co. Louth [U.K.] on 2 May 1866.1
On his death, the U.K. barony of Clermont became extinct.2
