     Charlotte Mary Heathcote was the daughter of Reverend Robert Boothby Heathcote and Charlotte Sotheby.¹ She married William Proby, 5th Earl of Carysfort, son of Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort and Isabella Howard, on 11 April 1860 at Chingford, Essex, England^G.¹ She died on 13 January 1918 at Clevehurst, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, England^G.² She was buried on 17 January 1918 at Elton Hall, Huntingdonshire, England^G.² Her will was proven (by probate) in March 1918, at £352,135 gross.²
     Her married name became Proby. After her marriage, Charlotte Mary Heathcote was styled as Countess of Carysfort on 18 May 1872.

     Reverend Robert Boothby Heathcote was born on 13 May 1805.¹ He was the son of John Heathcote and Mary Anne Thornhill.² He married, firstly, Charlotte Sotheby, daughter of Admiral Thomas Sotheby and Lady Mary Anne Bourke, on 9 March 1837.³ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Bridget Wells, daughter of Captain William Wells, on 10 October 1848.¹ He died on 19 September 1865 at age 60.¹
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)⁴ He graduated in 1827 with a Eton and St John’s College Cambridge Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ ) He was the Rector at Chingford, Essex, England^G.⁴ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.² He lived at Friday Hill, Chingford, Essex, England.²

     Charlotte Sotheby was born in 1811.² She was the daughter of Admiral Thomas Sotheby and Lady Mary Anne Bourke.^1,2 She married Reverend Robert Boothby Heathcote, son of John Heathcote and Mary Anne Thornhill, on 9 March 1837.³ She died on 15 January 1845.⁴
     Her married name became Heathcote.

     Admiral Thomas Sotheby was born on 15 May 1758.² He was the son of Colonel William Sotheby and Elizabeth Sloane.² He was baptised on 2 June 1758 at St. George’s, Bloomsbury, London, England.³ He married, firstly, Sarah Anstey, daughter of Christopher Anstey and Anne Calvert, in 1788.⁴ He married, secondly, Lady Mary Anne Bourke, daughter of Most Rev. Joseph Deane Bourke, 3rd Earl of Mayo and Elizabeth Meade, in April 1806.⁵ He died in July 1831 at age 73.²
     He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.⁴ He lived at High Beach, Essex, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Bridget Wells was the daughter of Captain William Wells.² She married Reverend Robert Boothby Heathcote, son of John Heathcote and Mary Anne Thornhill, on 10 October 1848.¹ She died in 1894.¹
     Her married name became Heathcote.

     Captain William Wells gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He lived at Holmewood, Huntingdonshire, England^G.

     John Heathcote was born on 14 November 1767.¹ He was the son of John Heathcote and Lydia Moyer.² He married Mary Anne Thornhill, daughter of George Thornhill, on 5 November 1799.¹ He died on 3 May 1838 at age 70.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ripon.¹ He lived at Conington Castle, Huntingdonshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Anne Thornhill was the daughter of George Thornhill.² She married John Heathcote, son of John Heathcote and Lydia Moyer, on 5 November 1799.¹ She died on 27 July 1854.¹
     Her married name became Heathcote.

     George Thornhill lived at Diddington, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     John Heathcote was the son of Sir John Heathcote, 2nd Bt. and Bridget White.² He married Lydia Moyer, daughter of Benjamin Moyer, on 27 October 1764.¹ He died on 29 July 1795.¹
     He lived at Conington Castle, Huntingdonshire, England^G.
