     Hon. John St. Vincent Saumarez was born on 6 March 1845.¹ He was the son of Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez and Caroline Esther Rhodes.² He died on 12 January 1877 at age 31, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 14th Hussars.¹

     Simon Purdon was born in 1655.² He was the son of George Purdon.² He married Helena Synge, daughter of Rt. Rev. Edward Synge and Barbara Latham.¹ He died on 4 November 1719.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)¹ He lived at Tinerana, County Clare, Ireland^G.¹

     Jane Proud is the daughter of Reverend Nicholas Proud.¹ She married Most Rev. Edward Synge, son of Rt. Rev. Edward Synge and Barbara Latham.¹
     Her married name became Synge.¹

     Reverend Nicholas Proud held the office of Dean of Clonfert.¹ He lived at Cork, County Cork, Ireland^G.²

     Rt. Rev. Edward Synge was born in 1691.¹ He was the son of Most Rev. Edward Synge and Jane Proud.¹ He married Jane Curtis, daughter of Robert Curtis.¹ He died on 29 January 1762.¹
     He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Clonfert in 1730.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Cloyne in 1731.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Ferns in 1733.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Elphin in 1740.¹ He also had two sons, who died young.¹

     Jane Curtis is the daughter of Robert Curtis.¹ She married Rt. Rev. Edward Synge, son of Most Rev. Edward Synge and Jane Proud.¹
     Her married name became Synge.¹

     Robert Curtis lived at Roscora, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹

     Alicia Synge was born in December 1726.¹ She was the daughter of Rt. Rev. Edward Synge and Jane Curtis.¹ She married Rt. Hon. Joshua Cooper, son of Joshua Cooper and Mary Bingham, on 10 May 1758.²
     From 1758, her married name became Cooper.¹

     Michael Saumarez was born on 26 August 1884.¹ He was the son of Hon. Arthur Saumarez and Hon. Edith Mary McGarel-Hogg.² He died on 1 November 1897 at age 13.¹

     Reginald Stafford Saumarez was born on 11 January 1886.¹ He was the son of Hon. Arthur Saumarez and Hon. Edith Mary McGarel-Hogg.² He died on 23 March 1918 at age 32 at France^G, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 22nd Battalion, London Regiment (The Queen’s.)¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹
