     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.¹

     Reverend Peter Leopold Dyke Acland was born on 3 June 1819.² He was the son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 6th/10th Bt. and Lydia Elizabeth Hoare.^1,3 He married, firstly, Julia Barker, daughter of Reverend Benjamin Barker, on 24 April 1845 at Brighton, Sussex, England.^3,4 He married, secondly, Julie Wappner, daughter of Philip Wappner, on 12 December 1872.³ He died on 24 October 1899 at age 80.³
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³ He held the office of Prebendary of Exeter.³ He was the Vicar between 1845 and 1896 at Broad Clyst, Devon, England^G.³ He held the office of Sub-Dean of Exeter in 1887.³

     Julia Barker was born on 7 September 1823 at Caston, Norfolk, England.² She was the daughter of Reverend Benjamin Barker.¹ She married Reverend Peter Leopold Dyke Acland, son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 6th/10th Bt. and Lydia Elizabeth Hoare, on 24 April 1845 at Brighton, Sussex, England.^1,2 She died on 18 September 1851 at age 28 at Madeira, Portugal.^1,2
     Her married name became Acland.

     Reverend Benjamin Barker was the Rector at Shipdham, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     Julie Wappner was the daughter of Philip Wappner.¹ She married Reverend Peter Leopold Dyke Acland, son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 6th/10th Bt. and Lydia Elizabeth Hoare, on 12 December 1872.¹ She died on 29 October 1906, without issue.¹
     Her married name became Acland.

     Philip Wappner lived at Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfahlen, Germany^G.¹

     John Barton Arundel Acland was born on 25 November 1823.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 6th/10th Bt. and Lydia Elizabeth Hoare.¹ He married Emily Weddell Harper, daughter of Rt. Rev. Henry John Chitty Harper and Emily Weddell Wooldridge, on 17 January 1860 at St. Michael’s Church, Chirstchurch, New Zealand.^1,2 He died on 18 May 1904 at age 80.¹
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was a barrister.¹ He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [New Zealand]¹

     Emily Weddell Harper was born on 14 November 1830 at Eton, Buckinghamshire, England.² She was the daughter of Rt. Rev. Henry John Chitty Harper and Emily Weddell Wooldridge.^1,3 She married John Barton Arundel Acland, son of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 6th/10th Bt. and Lydia Elizabeth Hoare, on 17 January 1860 at St. Michael’s Church, Chirstchurch, New Zealand.^1,2 She died on 23 July 1905 at age 74 at Holmcote, Canterbury, New Zealand.^1,2
     Her married name became Acland.

     Rt. Rev. Henry John Chitty Harper was baptised on 9 January 1804 at Holy Trinity Church, Gosport, Hampshire, England^G.² He was the son of Dr. Tristram Harper and Mary Jellicoe.² He married Emily Weddell Wooldridge on 12 December 1829 at St. Maurice, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.² He died on 28 December 1893 at age 89.²
