     Sir George Bruce was the son of Sir George Bruce and Margaret Primrose.² He married Mary Preston, daughter of Sir John Preston, 4th of Valleyfield and Grizel Colville.²
     He lived at Carnock, Fife, Scotland^G.¹

     Catherine Stewart was the daughter of Sir James Stewart of Kirkhill.¹ She married Henry Erskine, 3rd Lord Cardross, son of David Erskine, 2nd Lord Cardross and Anne Hope, on 3 March 1671.¹ She died in January 1725 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² She was buried on 1 February 1725 at Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²
     After her marriage, Catherine Stewart was styled as Baroness Cardross on 3 March 1671. From 3 March 1671, her married name became Erskine.

     David Erskine, 9th Earl of Buchan was born in 1672.² He was the son of Henry Erskine, 3rd Lord Cardross and Catherine Stewart.¹ He married, firstly, Frances Fairfax, daughter of Henry Fairfax and Anne Browne, on 11 February 1697.² He married, secondly, Isabella Blackett, daughter of Sir William Blackett, 1st Bt. and Julia Conyers, on 15 September 1743.² He died on 14 October 1745 at London, England^G.³ He was buried on 17 October 1745 at Hampstead, London, England^G.³ He died intestate and his estate was administered to a creditor on 12 December 1745.³
     He succeeded as the 4th Lord Cardross [S., 1610] on 21 May 1693.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Buchan [S., 1469] in 1695.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Lord Auchterhouse [S., 1469] in 1695.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1697.² He held the office of Governor of Blackness Castle between 1702 and 1707.² He held the office of Governor of Blackness Castle between 1710 and 1714.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Selkirkshire and Clackmannanshire between 1715 and 1734.² He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1715 and 1734.² Due to his opposition to the Union, he was removed from all of his offices.⁴

     Frances Fairfax was the daughter of Henry Fairfax and Anne Browne.² She married David Erskine, 9th Earl of Buchan, son of Henry Erskine, 3rd Lord Cardross and Catherine Stewart, on 11 February 1697.² She died on 31 July 1719.³
     After her marriage, Frances Fairfax was styled as Countess of Buchan on 11 February 1697. From 11 February 1697, her married name became Erskine.

     Henry Fairfax is the son of Hon. Henry Fairfax and Frances Baker.² He married Anne Browne, daughter of Sir Thomas Browne and Dorothy Mileham, in 1669.^2,3
     He was an author. He lived at Hurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ Henry Fairfax used the pen-name of Thomas Browne.¹

     Henry David Erskine, 10th Earl of Buchan was born on 17 April 1710.¹ He was the son of David Erskine, 9th Earl of Buchan and Frances Fairfax.¹ He married Agnes Steuart, daughter of Sir James Steuart, 1st Bt. and Ann Dalrymple, on 31 January 1739 at Lady Huntingdon’s Chapel, Bath, Somerset, England^G.^1,3 He died on 1 December 1767 at age 57 at Walcot, Somerset, England^G.⁴ He was buried on 21 December 1767 at Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.⁴
     He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) on 10 January 1733/34.⁴ He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Buchan [S., 1469] on 14 October 1745.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Lord Auchterhouse [S., 1469] on 14 October 1745.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Lord Cardross [S., 1610] on 14 October 1745.¹

     Isabella Blackett was the daughter of Sir William Blackett, 1st Bt. and Julia Conyers.^1,2 She married David Erskine, 9th Earl of Buchan, son of Henry Erskine, 3rd Lord Cardross and Catherine Stewart, on 15 September 1743.¹ She died on 14 May 1763 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G, without issue.² Her will was proven (by probate) on 2 June 1763.²
     From 15 September 1743, her married name became Erskine. After her marriage, Isabella Blackett was styled as Countess of Buchan on 15 September 1743. Her last will was dated 2 November 1761. She received a blessing on 21 May 1763 at Hampstead, London, England^G.²

     Belinda Carey Cubitt was born in 1968.¹ She is the daughter of Captain Alick John Archibald Cubitt and Jennifer Faith Gott.¹ She married Richard Edward Huntley Naylor, son of David Huntley Naylor and Dinah Jean Guggenheim.²

     Agnes Steuart was born on 3 May 1717 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She was the daughter of Sir James Steuart, 1st Bt. and Ann Dalrymple.^2,3 She married Henry David Erskine, 10th Earl of Buchan, son of David Erskine, 9th Earl of Buchan and Frances Fairfax, on 31 January 1739 at Lady Huntingdon’s Chapel, Bath, Somerset, England^G.^2,4 She died on 17 December 1778 at age 61 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.³

     Sir James Steuart, 1st Bt. was born in 1681.¹ He was the son of Sir James Steuart.¹ He married Ann Dalrymple, daughter of Hon. Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 1st Bt. and Marion Hamilton.² He died on 9 August 1727.¹
     He held the office of Solicitor-General [Scotland].³ He gained the title of 1st Baronet Steuart, of Goodtrees.
