Alexander Stewart, 5th Lord Blantyre1 
He succeeded as the 5th Lord Blantyre [S., 1606] circa May 1676.1 He raised a regiment for King William III.1 He was also known as Alexander Stuart.1 On 9 June 1702 he protested against the legality of the convention.1 On 15 October 1702 he was Executor for a considerable fortune from his cousin, Frances Teresa Stewart, Duchess of Richmond and Lennox – part of the diposable funds were used to pay off his debts with the bulk of the estate to pass to his son Walter.1 In 1703 he was fined £5,000 “after apologising for undutiful expressions uttered against the High Commissioner.”1
