Alexander Macdonald, 5th Lord of the Isles1 
He was styled as Lord of the Isles.2 In 1291 he swore allegiance to King Edward I of England, and opposed Robert Bruce.2 He held the office of Admiral of the Western Isles.2 In 1308 he was captured.2
All of his sons are said to have fled to Ireland, and left issue there who were cut off from the succession owing to their father’s forfeiture.2
