Lt. John Francis Arundell, 16th Baron Arundell of Wardour1 
He was educated at Stonyhurst College, Blackburn, Lancashire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He succeeded as the 16th Baron Arundell of Wardour, co. Wiltshire [E., 1605] on 30 March 1939.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment.1 He fought in the Second World War, and became a POW in 1940, including a spell in Colditz before being repatriated to Britain in 1944 with tuberculosis.3
On his death, the Barony of Arundell of Wardour became extinct.1
