Sir Alexander Davidson Grierson of Lag, 9th Bt.1 
He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Grierson, of Lag, co. Dumfries [N.S., 1685] on 27 December 1879.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dumfries-shire.3 He gained the rank of Major and Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the 3rd Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers Militia.1 He fought in the Boer War.2
