     Sir Michael John Bewes Grierson of Lag, 12th Bt. was born on 24 July 1921.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alexander George William Grierson and Violet Ethel Bewes.¹ He married Valerie Anne Wright, daughter of Russell George Wright, on 17 April 1971.² He died on 24 March 2008 at age 86.³
     He was educated at Warden House School, Deal, Kent, England^G.² He was educated at St. Edmund’s School, Canterbury, Kent, England^G.² He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1946, with the Royal Air Force.² He was a civil engineer.² He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Grierson, of Lag, co. Dumfries [N.S., 1685] on 5 May 1987.^2,3 He lived in 2003 at 40C Palace Road, Streatham Hill, London, England^G.²

     Pamela Violet Grierson was born on 23 April 1925.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Alexander George William Grierson and Violet Ethel Bewes.¹ She married Richard Wallace Vernon, son of Herbert Wallace Vernon and Gertrude Mary Jackson, on 8 January 1955 at St. Mary’s Church, Walmer, Kent, England^G.^1,2 She died on 10 February 2017 at age 91.³
     From 8 January 1955, her married name became Vernon.¹ She lived in 2003 at Park Lodge, 46 Park Road, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, England^G.¹

     Richard Wallace Vernon was born on 18 October 1927.² He is the son of Herbert Wallace Vernon and Gertrude Mary Jackson.² He married Pamela Violet Grierson, daughter of Lt.-Col. Alexander George William Grierson and Violet Ethel Bewes, on 8 January 1955 at St. Mary’s Church, Walmer, Kent, England^G.^1,3
     He was educated at Loretto School, Muselborough, East Lothian, Scotland^G.² He graduated from Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery.² He was a director of R. K. Harrison, J. I. Jacobs (Insurance) Ltd between 1967 and 1982.² He was a director of Harrison Horncastle Insurance Brokers Ltd between 1982 and 1984.² He was managing director of Towry Law (Internat) Ltd between 1984 and 1988.² He lived in 2003 at Park Lodge, 46 Park Road, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, England^G.²

     Frederick Vedast Grierson was born on 28 November 1888.¹ He was the son of Sir Alexander Davidson Grierson of Lag, 9th Bt. and Fannie White.¹ He married Frederica Skipp, daughter of Arthur Frederick Skipp, in 1909.¹ He died on 14 February 1922 at age 33.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 5th Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹ He fought in the First World War, in the Middle East, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He fought in the Gallipoli Campaign.²

     Elizabeth Hyde is the daughter of John Hyde.² She married Radclyffe Assheton, son of Ralph Assheton and Johanna Radclyffe.¹
     Her married name became Assheton.

     Frederica Skipp was born in 1886 at Eccleshall Bierlow, Yorkshire, England.² She was the daughter of Arthur Frederick Skipp.¹ She married Frederick Vedast Grierson, son of Sir Alexander Davidson Grierson of Lag, 9th Bt. and Fannie White, in 1909.¹ She died on 23 October 1941 at Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.^1,2
     From 1909, her married name became Grierson.¹

     Gladys Sandwith was born on 5 February 1867 at Denbighshire, Wales.^1,2 She was the daughter of Humphrey Sandwith and Lucy Ann Hargreaves.¹ She married Fleming Mant Sandwith, son of John William Fleming Sandwith and Ethel Mant, on 3 October 1891 at St. Mary Abbot’s Church, Kensington, London, England.² She died in 1945 at Uxbridge, London, England.²

     Anne Shuttleworth was the daughter of Richard Shuttleworth.² She married John Assheton, son of Radclyffe Assheton and Elizabeth Hyde.¹
     Her married name became Assheton.
