[Scotland] in 1697.3 He was created 1st Lord Boyle, of Kelburn, Stewartoun, Finnick, Largs and Dalry [Scotland] on 31 January 1698/99, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Earl of Glasgow [Scotland] on 12 April 1703, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Lord Boyle, of Stewartoun, Cumbraes, Fenwick, Largs and Dalry [Scotland] on 12 April 1703, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Viscount of Kelburn [Scotland] on 12 April 1703, with a special remainder to all of his heirs male whatsoever.1 He was Commissioner for the Union of England and Scotland in 1707.3 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1707 and 1710.3 He lived at Kelburn, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.1

Charles Seton, 2nd Earl of Dunfermline was born in November 1615.1 He was the son of Alexander Seton, 1st Earl of Dunfermline and Hon. Margaret Hay.1 He married Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 7th Earl of Morton and Lady Anne Keith, on 9 November 1632.1 He died circa 11 May 1672.1
He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Fyvie [S., 1598] on 16 June 1622.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Dunfermline [S., 1605] on 16 June 1622.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] between 1640 and 1648.1 He held the office of High Commissioner of the General Assembly [Scotland] in 1642.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1661.1 He held the office of Lord of Sesson Extraordinary between 1669 and 1672.1 He held the office of Privy Seal [Scotland] from 1671 to 1672.1
