     Janet Clerk is the daughter of Sir John Clerk of Penicuik, 2nd Bt.¹ She married James Carmichael, son of Hon. William Carmichael and Helen Craig, on 16 April 1750.¹
     From 16 April 1750, her married name became Carmichael.¹

     William Clerk-Maxwell is the son of Sir John Clerk of Penicuik, 1st Bt.¹ He married Agnes Maxwell.¹

     Thomas Carmichael was born on 18 February 1715.¹ He was the son of Hon. William Carmichael and Helen Craig.¹ He died, in infancy.¹

     Elizabeth Carmichael was born on 4 October 1711.¹ She was the daughter of Hon. William Carmichael and Helen Craig.¹ She died on 18 November 1783 at age 72, unmarried.¹

     Helen Carmichael was the daughter of Hon. William Carmichael and Helen Craig.¹ She married John Gibson, son of Alexander Gibson of Durie and Elizabeth Foulis.¹ She died on 2 June 1787.²
     Her married name became Gibson.¹

     John Gibson was the son of Alexander Gibson of Durie and Elizabeth Foulis.² He married Helen Carmichael, daughter of Hon. William Carmichael and Helen Craig.¹ He died on 18 January 1767.²
     He lived at Durie, Fife, Scotland^G.¹

     Hon. Sir Daniel Carmichael was born after 1672. He was the son of John Carmichael, 1st Earl of Hyndford and Beatrix Drummond.¹ He married Barbara Lockhart, daughter of Sir George Lockhart, 1st of Carnwath and Hon. Philadelphia Wharton.¹ He died in October 1708.¹
     He lived at Mauldsley, Scotland^G.¹

     Barbara Lockhart is the daughter of Sir George Lockhart, 1st of Carnwath and Hon. Philadelphia Wharton.^1,2 She married, secondly, Hon. Sir Daniel Carmichael, son of John Carmichael, 1st Earl of Hyndford and Beatrix Drummond.¹ She married, firstly, James Lockhart of Castlehill, younger.¹
     Her married name became Carmichael.¹

     Henry Edward Leeke married Maria Caroline Somerset, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Somerset and Frances Sarah Heathcote, in 1857.¹

     Lt.-Col. John Thurstan Collins Howard was born on 4 December 1919.¹ He was the son of Commander Robert John Howard and Violet Mary Collins.² He married Margaret Elphinstone Flamank Edyvean, daughter of Lt.-Col. Robert Courtenay Flamank Edyvean and Ella Maude Murdoch Munro, on 11 October 1949.¹ He died on 28 December 1998 at age 79 at Yeovil, Somerset, England.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the S.C.L.I.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He lived at College Green Farm, East Pennard, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England^G.¹
