     Sir John William Pitt Muir Mackenzie was born on 19 March 1854.¹ He was the son of Sir John William Pitt Muir Mackenzie of Delvine, 2nd Bt. and Sophia Matilda Johnstone.² He was baptised on 12 April 1854 at Caputh, Perthshire, Scotland^G.³ He married, firstly, Fanny Louisa Johnstone, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Montague Cholmeley Johnstone and Leonora Louisa Somerset, on 2 August 1876.¹ He married, secondly, Rhoda Watson, daughter of William Watson, on 16 July 1898.¹ He married, thirdly, Mary Therese Villiers-Stuart, daughter of Henry Windsor Villiers-Stuart and Mary Power, on 16 February 1904.¹ He died on 25 October 1916 at age 62.¹
     He was in the Indian Civil Service between 1874 and 1910.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.)¹ He held the office of Commissioner of Sind in 1904.¹ He held the office of Member of the Council of Bombay between 1905 and 1910.¹ He was Acting Governor of Bombay
in 1907.¹

     Fanny Louisa Johnstone was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Montague Cholmeley Johnstone and Leonora Louisa Somerset.² She married Sir John William Pitt Muir Mackenzie, son of Sir John William Pitt Muir Mackenzie of Delvine, 2nd Bt. and Sophia Matilda Johnstone, on 2 August 1876.¹ She died on 24 September 1895.¹
     From 2 August 1876, her married name became Muir Mackenzie.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Montague Cholmeley Johnstone was born on 2 March 1804.² He was the son of James Raymond Johnstone of Alva and Mary Elizabeth Cholmeley.² He married Leonora Louisa Somerset, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Somerset and Frances Sarah Heathcote, on 31 December 1844.² He died on 22 September 1874 at age 70.²
     He fought in the Kaffir War between 1846 and 1851.² He fought in the Indian Mutiny.²

     Rhoda Watson was the daughter of William Watson.² She married Sir John William Pitt Muir Mackenzie, son of Sir John William Pitt Muir Mackenzie of Delvine, 2nd Bt. and Sophia Matilda Johnstone, on 16 July 1898.¹ She died on 15 May 1900, without issue.¹
     From 16 July 1898, her married name became Muir Mackenzie.¹

     William Watson lived at Caversham Rise, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Leonora Louisa Somerset was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Somerset and Frances Sarah Heathcote.¹ She married Lt.-Gen. Montague Cholmeley Johnstone, son of James Raymond Johnstone of Alva and Mary Elizabeth Cholmeley, on 31 December 1844.² She died on 28 September 1913.²
     Her married name became Johnstone.

     Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Somerset was born on 30 December 1794.¹ He was the son of General Lord Charles Henry Somerset and Hon. Elizabeth Courtenay.¹ He married Frances Sarah Heathcote, daughter of Admiral Sir Henry Heathcote and Sarah Guscott, on 1 April 1817.¹ He died on 15 February 1862 at age 67.¹
     He was appointed Knight, Hanoverian Order (K.H.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹ He was Commander-in-Chief of the forces in Bombay.¹ He was Colonel of the 25th Foot.¹ He lived at Roehampton Lodge, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Frances Sarah Heathcote was the daughter of Admiral Sir Henry Heathcote and Sarah Guscott.^1,2 She married Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Somerset, son of General Lord Charles Henry Somerset and Hon. Elizabeth Courtenay, on 1 April 1817.¹ She died on 16 March 1886.¹
     Her married name became Somerset.

     Admiral Sir Henry Heathcote was born on 20 January 1777.² He was the son of Sir William Heathcote, 3rd Bt. and Frances Thorpe.³ He married Sarah Guscott, daughter of Thomas Guscott, on 10 November 1799 at St. Pancras, London, England.^2,4 He died on 16 August 1851 at age 74.²
     He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue.²

     Gertrude Gwendoline Villiers-Stuart was born on 20 January 1878. She was the daughter of Henry Windsor Villiers-Stuart and Mary Power. She married Sir Basil Scott of Glenaros on 28 December 1914. She died on 2 December 1961 at age 83 at Pancras, London, England.¹
     Her married name became Scott.
