Ezekiel Hopkins was born on 3 December 1634 at Pinne, Devon, England.2 He was the son of John Hopkins.2 He married, firstly, Alicia Moore, daughter of Samuel Moore and Mary Viner.1 He married, secondly, Lady Aramintha Robartes, daughter of John Robartes, 1st Earl of Radnor and Laetitia Isabella Smythe.1 He died on 19 June 1690 at age 55.2
He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)2 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He held the office of Bishop of Raphoe from 1671 to 1681.1 He held the office of Bishop of Londonderry from 1681 to 1689.1
