Sir John Gordon of Invergordon, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1707. He was the son of Sir William Gordon of Invergordon, 1st Bt. and Christian Hamilton. He married, firstly, unknown daughter Raines. He married, secondly, Mary Weir on 18 February 1739. He died in 1783.
He gained the title of 2nd Baronet Gordon, of Invergordon. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cromarty between 1742 and 1747. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cromarty between 1754 and 1761.
