Sir Charles Fox was born on 11 March 1810 at Derby, Derbyshire, EnglandG.3 He was the son of Francis Fox.3 He married Mary Brookhouse, daughter of Joseph Brookhouse, in 1830.3 He died on 14 June 1874 at age 64 at Blackheath, Kent, EnglandG.3
He was founder of Sir Charles Fox & Sons, civil and consulting engineers.3 He was appointed Knight on 22 October 1851.3 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Asiatic Society (F.R.A.S.)3 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
