He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1865 with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours (B.A.)1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1866 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a partner in his father’s firm, and in that of ‘Egerton Hubbard & Co.’ of St. Petersburg.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckinghamshire between 1874 and 1880.1 He gained the rank of honorary Colonel in the Buckinghamshire Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Buckinghamshire between 1886 and 1889.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Addington, of Addington, Buckinghamshire [U.K., 1887] on 28 August 1889.1 He held the office of High Steward of Buckingham.3 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)3
