Sir Thomas Montgomery-Cuninghame of Cuninghame, 8th Bt.1 
He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Cuninghame, of Corsehill, co. Ayr [N.S., 1672] on 8 June 1846.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Royal Ayrshire Rifles between 1850 and 1858.1

In 1637 he was found by the Courts to have been an idiot from birth.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Boteler [E., 1620] on 27 May 1637.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Boteler of Brantfield, co. Hertford [E., 1628] on 27 May 1637.1
On his death, his peerage and baronetcy became extinct.1

He fought in the Jowaki Campaign in 1877.2 He fought in the Afghanistan Cmapaign between 1878 and 1878.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Johnson, of Bath [U.K., 1818] on 20 June 1883.2 He fought in the Burma War between 1886 and 1887.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Battalion, Yorkshire Light Infantry.2 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1902 in the 3rd Infantry Brigade.2 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1902 and 1906 in the General Staff, 8th Division, Irish Command.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was AAG, General HQ Central Force HD between 1914 and 1915.2 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1915 in the DAG Centlra Force and Eastern Command.2
