     Sir William James Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 9th Bt. was born on 20 May 1834.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Montgomery-Cuninghame of Cuninghame, 8th Bt. and Charlotte Niven Doig Hutcheson.¹ He married Elizabeth Hartopp, daughter of Edward Bourchier Hartopp and Honoria Gent, on 22 April 1869.¹ He died on 11 November 1897 at age 63.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He fought in the Crimean War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 4th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.¹ He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Cuninghame, of Corsehill, co. Ayr [N.S., 1672] on 30 August 1870.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ayr Burghs between 1874 and 1880.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹

     Sir Thomas Andrew Alexander Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 10th Bt. was born on 30 March 1877.¹ He was the son of Sir William James Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Hartopp.^1,2 He married, firstly, Alice Frances Denison Des Voeux, daughter of Sir George William Des Voeux, on 1 November 1904.¹ He and Alice Frances Denison Des Voeux were divorced in 1925.¹ He married, secondly, Nancy Macaulay Foggo, daughter of W. Stewart Foggo, on 24 November 1925.¹ He died on 5 January 1945 at age 67.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Cuninghame, of Corsehill, co. Ayr [N.S., 1672] on 11 November 1897.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches twice and was wounded.¹ He was Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.¹ He was Deputy Adjutant Quartermaster-General between 1909 and 1912, 5th Division, Irish Command.¹ He was Military Attaché to Vienna and Cetinje between 1912 and 1914.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Rifle Brigade.¹ He was Military Attaché to Athens between 1915 and 1916.¹ He was awarded the Maria Theresia Medal Austria.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Czecho-Slovak.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal (D.S.M.) U.S.¹ He was British Representative in 1918 at American Staff College, France.¹ He was awarded the Commandeur, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.¹ He was awarded the Order of the Redeemer of Greece.¹ He was awarded the Knight Grand Cross, Order of George I of Greece.¹ He was British Military Representative to Austria between 1919 and 1920.¹ He was Military Attaché to Vienna between 1920 and 1923.¹

     Alice Frances Denison Des Voeux was the daughter of Sir George William Des Voeux.¹ She married Sir Thomas Andrew Alexander Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 10th Bt., son of Sir William James Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Hartopp, on 1 November 1904.¹ She and Sir Thomas Andrew Alexander Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 10th Bt. were divorced in 1925.¹ She died on 9 June 1966.¹
     From 1 November 1904, her married name became Montgomery-Cuninghame.¹ She was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1940.¹

     Nancy Macaulay Foggo is the daughter of W. Stewart Foggo.¹ She married, firstly, Sir Thomas Andrew Alexander Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 10th Bt., son of Sir William James Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, 9th Bt. and Elizabeth Hartopp, on 24 November 1925.¹ She married, secondly, Johan Frederick Christian Killander, son of Lennart Killander, in 1946.²
     From 24 November 1925, her married name became Montgomery-Cuninghame.¹ From 1946, her married name became Killander.²

     W. Stewart Foggo lived at Coldstream, British Columbia, Canada^G.² He lived at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.²

     John Edward Underhill was born in 1574 at Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Thomas Underhill and Magdalen Amyas.¹ He married Mary Moseley.¹ He married Honora Pawley, daughter of James Pawley and Esabelle Bonython, circa 1595.¹ He died in 1608 at Bergen-op-Zoom, Brabant, The Netherlands^G.¹

     Mary Moseley was born in 1580.¹ She married John Edward Underhill, son of Thomas Underhill and Magdalen Amyas.¹ She died, without issue.¹
     She lived at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ Her married name became Underhill.¹

     Honora Pawley was born circa 1575 at Uny Lelant, Cornwall, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of James Pawley and Esabelle Bonython.¹ She married, firstly, John Edward Underhill, son of Thomas Underhill and Magdalen Amyas, circa 1595.¹ She married, secondly, Richard Morris before 1630.¹ She died in 1658 at Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, U.S.A.^G.¹
     From circa 1595, her married name became Underhill.¹ From before 1630, her married name became Morris.¹ She and Richard Morris emigrated to New England, U.S.A.^G, arriving on 1630.¹

     Captain John Underhill was born in 1609.¹ He was the son of John Edward Underhill and Honora Pawley.¹ He married Helena de Hooch on 12 December 1628 at The Hague, The Netherlands^G.² He died on 21 July 1672 at New York, U.S.A.^G.² He was buried at Locust Valley, Nassau County, New York, U.S.A.^G.²
     He and Helena de Hooch emigrated arriving on 1630 to the Massachusetts Bay Colony.²
