George Maitland Christian was born on 27 June 1902.3 He was the son of Frederick Henry Christian and Mary Victoria Maitland-Heriot.1 He married Barbara Ellaline Joy Loder, daughter of Major Basil Charles Robert Loder and Katie Blanche Davies, on 17 July 1934.3 He died on 5 April 1991 at age 88 at Chichester, Sussex, England.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.4 He was educated in 1924 at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)4 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force.3 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.4 He lived in 1969 at Northurst Farm, Lurgashall, Petworth, Essex, EnglandG.4
