James Ferguson, Lord Pitfour1 
James Ferguson, Lord Pitfour was born in 1700 at Pitfour, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of James Ferguson, 1st of Pitfour and Ann Stuart.3 He married Hon. Anne Murray, daughter of Alexander Murray, 4th Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Stirling, on 3 February 1733.1 He died on 25 June 1777 at Gilmerton, Midlothian, ScotlandG.4,2
He was educated between 1711 and 1715 at Marischal College, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2 He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was admitted to Advocate in 1722.2 He held the office of Senator of the College of Justice in June 1764.1 He was styled as Lord Pitfour [Scottish Law Lord] on 14 June 1764.1,2
