James Ferugson, Lord Pitfour 2

     James Ferguson, Lord Pitfour was born in 1700 at Pitfour, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of James Ferguson, 1st of Pitfour and Ann Stuart.3 He married Hon. Anne Murray, daughter of Alexander Murray, 4th Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Stirling, on 3 February 1733.1 He died on 25 June 1777 at Gilmerton, Midlothian, ScotlandG.4,2
     He was educated between 1711 and 1715 at Marischal College, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2 He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was admitted to Advocate in 1722.2 He held the office of Senator of the College of Justice in June 1764.1 He was styled as Lord Pitfour [Scottish Law Lord] on 14 June 1764.1,2

     Hon. Janet Murray was born on 13 July 1723.2 She was the daughter of Alexander Murray, 4th Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Stirling.3 She married Sir Robert Murray of Dunerne, 6th Bt., son of Colonel William Murray and Anne Schurmann, on 22 June 1750.1 She died on 9 August 1759 at age 36.1
     From 22 June 1750, her married name became Murray.

Helen Murray was born on 19 January 1716.2 She was the daughter of Alexander Murray, 4th Lord Elibank and Elizabeth Stirling.3 She married Sir John Stewart of Grandtully, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Stewart of Balcaskie, 1st Bt. and Lady Jean Mackenzie, on 12 September 1761.1 She died on 28 December 1809 at age 93, without issue.1
     From 12 September 1761, her married name became Stewart.
