Sir Archibald Primrose, Lord Carrington1 
He was Clerk of the Privy Council between 1641 and 1649.2 He was a Royalist during the Civil War.2 In 1651 his estates were sequestered after the Battle of Worcester.2 He was created 1st Baronet Primrose, of Carrington [Nova Scotia] on 1 August 1651.1 He was Clerk of the Privy Council in 1652.2 He held the office of Lord Clerk of the Register between 1660 and 1676.2 He was styled as Lord Carrington [Scottish Law Lord] in February 1660/61.2 He held the office of Lord of Session between February 1660/61 and 1676.2 He purchased territorial Barony of Barnbougle, Dalmeny, co. Linlithgow for 160,000 marks in 1662 from John Hamilton, 4th Earl of Haddington.2 He held the office of Lord-Justice General between 1676 and 1678.2
