     Alexander Smith of Stoneywood married Elspeth Burnett, daughter of William Burnett and Jean Burnett.¹ He died on 14 May 1796.¹
     He was a paper-maker at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Katherine Burnett was the daughter of Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Margaret Arbuthnott.¹ She married Sir William Seton of Pitmedden, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Alexander Seton of Pitmedden, 1st Bt. and Margaret Lauder, in 1702.¹ She died in 1749.²
     From 1702, her married name became Seton.¹

     Sir William Seton of Pitmedden, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 6 March 1673.² He was the son of Sir Alexander Seton of Pitmedden, 1st Bt. and Margaret Lauder.² He married Katherine Burnett, daughter of Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Margaret Arbuthnott, in 1702.¹ He died in 1744, with three other daughters:.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aberdeenshire between 1702 and 1708.² He was Commissioner for the Union of Scottish and English Parliaments.² He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Seton, of Pitmedden, co. Aberdeen [N.S., 1684] in 1719.²

     Mary Burnett was the daughter of Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Margaret Arbuthnott.¹ She married Sir John Carnegie of Pittarrow, 2nd Bt., son of Sir David Carnegie, 1st Bt. and Catherine Primrose, on 2 October 1712.¹ She died on 5 June 1754.¹
     From 2 October 1712, her married name became Carnegie.¹

     Sir John Carnegie of Pittarrow, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 27 January 1673.² He was the son of Sir David Carnegie, 1st Bt. and Catherine Primrose.² He married Mary Burnett, daughter of Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 3rd Bt. and Hon. Margaret Arbuthnott, on 2 October 1712.¹ He died on 3 April 1729 at age 56.²
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Carnegie, of Pittarrow, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1663] in November 1708.²

     Catherine Ramsay was the daughter of Charles Ramsay and Catherine Mill.^1,2 She married Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 6th Bt., son of William Burnett and Jean Burnett, before 1755.¹ She died on 10 December 1798.³
     From before 1755, her married name became Burnett.¹

     Charles Ramsay was the son of Sir Charles Ramsay of Balmain, 3rd Bt. and Elizabeth Falconer.² He married Catherine Mill, daughter of James Mill of Balweylo.² He died in 1727.²

     General William Burnett was born on 19 February 1762.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 6th Bt. and Catherine Ramsay.¹ He died on 26 February 1839 at age 77, unmarried.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 8 July 1839.
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 14th Foot.¹ He held the office of Equerry to King George III.¹

     Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. was born on 20 December 1755.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 6th Bt. and Catherine Ramsay.¹ He married Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone, daughter of General Robert Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone of Horn and Westhall and Mary Elphinstone, on 16 September 1785.¹ He died on 5 January 1837 at age 81.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in April 1838.²
     He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Scots Fusliers.¹ He fought in the Battle of Saratoga in 1777, where he was captured.¹ He fought in the American War of Independence.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1626] in May 1783.¹

     Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone was born circa 1765.² She was the daughter of General Robert Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone of Horn and Westhall and Mary Elphinstone.^1,2 She married Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt., son of Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 6th Bt. and Catherine Ramsay, on 16 September 1785.¹ She died on 18 March 1849 at Logie Elphinstone, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.²
     From 16 September 1785, her married name became Burnett.¹
