Lincoln [U.K., 1813] on 24 May 1874.2 On 24 May 1874 his name was legally changed to Edmund Beckett on succeeding his father.3 He held the office of Treasurer of Lincoln’s Inn in 1876.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding of Yorkshire.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.3 He was Chancellor and Vicar-General of York between 1877 and 1900.3 He was created 1st Baron Grimthorpe, of Grimthorpe, in the East Riding, co.
