     Sir James Stuart Coats, 3rd Bt. was born on 13 April 1894.¹ He was the son of Sir Stuart Auchincloss Coats, 2nd Bt. and Jane Muir Greenlees.² He married Lady Amy Gwendoline Gordon-Lennox, daughter of Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 8th Duke of Richmond and Hilda Madeline Brassey, on 11 December 1917.¹ He died on 26 October 1966 at age 72.¹
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.¹ He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Coats, of Auchendrane, Ayrshire [U.K., 1905] on 15 July 1959.¹

     Lady Amy Gwendoline Gordon-Lennox was born on 5 May 1894.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 8th Duke of Richmond and Hilda Madeline Brassey.^1,2 She married Sir James Stuart Coats, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Stuart Auchincloss Coats, 2nd Bt. and Jane Muir Greenlees, on 11 December 1917.² She died on 27 April 1975 at age 80.¹
     Her married name became Coats.

     Lieutenant Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, Lord Settrington was born on 26 January 1899.¹ He was the son of Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 8th Duke of Richmond and Hilda Madeline Brassey.¹ He died on 24 August 1919 at age 20 at Russia^G, from wounds received in action.¹
     He was styled as Lord Settrington.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Irish Guards.¹ He fought in the Russian Civil War.¹

     Hon. Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox was born on 15 August 1895.¹ He was the son of Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 8th Duke of Richmond and Hilda Madeline Brassey.¹ He died on 5 September 1895.¹

     Sarah Mary Coats was born on 18 August 1948.¹ She is the daughter of Captain Sir Alastair Francis Stuart Coats, 4th Bt. and Lukyn Gordon.³ She married, firstly, William Humble David Jeremy Ward, 5th Earl of Dudley, son of William Humble David Ward, 4th Earl of Dudley and Stella Carcano y Morra, on 3 July 1972.¹ She and William Humble David Jeremy Ward, 5th Earl of Dudley were divorced in 1976.¹ She married, secondly, Archibald David Samson Lloyd, son of David Lloyd, on 29 May 1976.¹
     From 3 July 1972, her married name became Ward. From 29 May 1976, her married name became Lloyd.¹ She lived in 2003 at 122 Pelham Road, London, England^G.¹
