He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Ireland] between 1797 and 1798.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Tipperary between 1806 and 1819.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1813.1

He was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Ireland] between 1790 and 1792.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Ireland] between 1796 and 1800.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Tipperary between 1801 and 1806.1 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1805 and 1811 in the 99th Foot.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl Landaff [I., 1797] on 30 July 1806. He was appointed Knight, Order of St. Patrick (K.P.) on 8 September 1831.1 On his death his titles became extinct.
