Major Leycester Penrhyn Storr1

Major Leycester Penrhyn Storr was born on 19 October 1879 at Great Horkesley, Essex, England.2 He was the son of Reverend John Storr and Amy Theodosia Leycester.1 He married Hon. Elizabeth Lucy Eily Blake, daughter of Erroll Augustus Blake, 4th Baron Wallscourt and Lady Jane Harriet Charlotte Stanhope, on 30 April 1907.1 He died on 29 March 1918 at age 38 at Pozieres, Somme, France, killed in action.1,2
He fought in the First World War.1 He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the King’s Liverpool Regiment.1
He had five daughters.1

He gained the rank of officer in the Rifle Brigade.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 18th Hussars.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1868.2 He was inventor of bolts for securing armour plates, chilled shot for piercing armour plating and conversion of smooth bore guns into rifled guns.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1873.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Taunton in 1880.2 He lived at Annestown, County Waterford, IrelandG.2
