     Elizabeth Rose Dawnay was born on 29 June 1946.¹ She is the daughter of Major Hon. George William ffolkes Dawnay and Rosemary Helen Grosvenor.¹

     Major Francis Bacon Russell Hemphill was born on 13 May 1854.¹ He was the son of Charles Hare Hemphill, 1st Baron Hemphill and Augusta Mary Stanhope.¹ He died on 7 June 1891 at age 37 at Malta^G, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 1st Royal Berkshire Regiment.¹

     Fitzroy Hemphill, 3rd Baron Hemphill was born on 21 November 1860.¹ He was the son of Charles Hare Hemphill, 1st Baron Hemphill and Augusta Mary Stanhope.¹ He married Mary Martyn, daughter of Andrew Martyn and Mary Dolphin, on 27 February 1897.¹ He died on 25 November 1930 at age 70.¹
     He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹ He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.¹ He held the office of Member of the London City Council between 1901 and 1910.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Hemphill, of Rathkenny and Cashel, co. Tipperary [U.K., 1906] on 26 March 1919.¹

     Mary Martyn was born on 29 November 1864 at County Dublin, Ireland.² She was the daughter of Andrew Martyn and Mary Dolphin.^1,3 She married Fitzroy Hemphill, 3rd Baron Hemphill, son of Charles Hare Hemphill, 1st Baron Hemphill and Augusta Mary Stanhope, on 27 February 1897.¹ She died on 25 August 1958 at age 93 at County Dublin, Ireland.¹
     From 27 February 1897, her married name became Hemphill.³ After her marriage, Mary Martyn was styled as Baroness Hemphill on 26 March 1919.

     Andrew Martyn was the son of Edward Martyn and Mary Browne.² He married Mary Dolphin, daughter of Oliver Dolphin, in 1863.² He died in 1878.²
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Spiddal, County Galway, Ireland^G.^2,1

     Martyn Charles Andrew Hemphill, 4th Baron Hemphill was born on 17 February 1901.¹ He was the son of Fitzroy Hemphill, 3rd Baron Hemphill and Mary Martyn.¹ He married Emily Sears, daughter of F. Irving Sears, on 10 September 1927 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹ He and Emily Sears were divorced in 1945.¹ He died on 19 March 1957 at age 56.¹
     He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1922 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was admitted to Kings Inns in 1930 entitled to practise as a barrister.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Hemphill, of Rathkenny and Cashel, co. Tipperary [U.K., 1906] on 25 November 1930.¹ He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1933 entitled to practise as a barrister.¹

     Emily Sears is the daughter of F. Irving Sears.¹ She married Martyn Charles Andrew Hemphill, 4th Baron Hemphill, son of Fitzroy Hemphill, 3rd Baron Hemphill and Mary Martyn, on 10 September 1927 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹ She and Martyn Charles Andrew Hemphill, 4th Baron Hemphill were divorced in 1945.¹
     Her married name became Hemphill. After her marriage, Emily Sears was styled as Baroness Hemphill on 25 November 1930.

     F. Irving Sears lived at Webster, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Peter Patrick Fitzroy Martyn-Hemphill, 5th Baron Hemphill was born on 5 September 1928.¹ He was the son of Martyn Charles Andrew Hemphill, 4th Baron Hemphill and Emily Sears.¹ He married Olivia Anne Ruttledge, daughter of Major Robert Francis Ruttledge and Mabel Rose Burke, on 17 April 1952.¹ He died on 6 April 2012 at age 83.²
     He was given the name of Peter Patrick Fitzroy Hemphill at birth.¹ He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Hemphill, of Rathkenny and Cashel, co. Tipperary [U.K., 1906] on 19 March 1957.¹ In 1959 his name was legally changed to Peter Patrick Fitzroy Martyn-Hemphill by Deed Poll.¹

     Olivia Anne Ruttledge was born in 1931 at Peshawar, Pakistan.^2,3 She was the daughter of Major Robert Francis Ruttledge and Mabel Rose Burke.^1,4 She married Peter Patrick Fitzroy Martyn-Hemphill, 5th Baron Hemphill, son of Martyn Charles Andrew Hemphill, 4th Baron Hemphill and Emily Sears, on 17 April 1952.¹ She died on 7 July 2015.²
     Olivia Anne Ruttledge usually went by her middle name of Anne.¹ Her married name became Hemphill. After her marriage, Olivia Anne Ruttledge was styled as Baroness Hemphill on 19 March 1957.
