Sir Martyn Gervase Beckett, 2nd Bt. was born on 6 November 1918.1 He was the son of Sir William Gervase Beckett, 1st Bt. and Lady Marjorie Blanche Eva Greville.1 He married Hon. Priscilla Léonie Helen Brett, daughter of Oliver Sylvain Baliol Brett, 3rd Viscount Esher and Antoinette Heckscher, on 22 February 1941.3 He died on 5 August 2001 at age 82.3,1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Beckett, of Kirkdale, co. York [U.K., 1921] on 24 August 1937.4 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1940 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Welsh Guard.1 He was a consulting architect for Gordonstoun School between 1954 and 1958.1 He was appointed Fellow, Ancient Monuments Society (F.A.M.S.) in 1955.1 He was architect for King’s College, Cambridge between 1960 and 2001.1 He was admitted to Freeman of the City of London in 1980.1 He was a consulting architect for Savoy Hotel Group between 1981 and 2001.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.) in 1982.1 He was a consulting architect for Charterhouse School between 1983 and 2001.1 He was a consulting architect for Temple Bar Trust between 1983 and 2001.1 He was a consulting architect for Ampleforth School in 1984.1 He was a consulting architect for Eton School between 1986 and 2001.1
