     He was Captain with P&O.1 He was awarded the Reserve Decoration (R.D.)1 He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy Reserve.1

     Henry Osburne Haughton was born on 31 July 1909.1 He was the son of William Horatio Haughton and Rosamund Atherton Newton.2 He married, firstly, Pauline Dowman, daughter of Charles Dowman, on 20 April 1935.2 He and Pauline Dowman were divorced.2 He married, secondly, Pamela Castilla May, daughter of George Neville May and Violet Castilla Mathews, on 1 February 1941.1 He died on 29 July 1962 at age 52 at Ethiopia, killed by bandits.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.1 He gained the rank of Pilot in the Fleet Air Arm.1
