     Thomas Lumisden Strange was born Madras, India on 4 January 1808.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Andrew Lumisden Strange and Louisa Burroughs.² He married, firstly, Mary Rose Tickell, daughter of Major Richard Samuel Tickell, on 30 November 1839 at Eton, Buckinghamshire, England.^1,3 He married, secondly, Emily Burn Begbie, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Peter James Begbie and Charlotte Ward Morphett, on 4 April 1856 at Madras, India.¹ He died on 3 September 1884 at age 76 at 22 Farquhar Road, Upper Norwood, Surrey, England.^1,3
     He held the office of Puisne Judge [India].¹

     Major Richard Samuel Tickell was born on 28 September 1809 at Cuttack, Odisha, India.² He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Richard Tickell and Mary Anne Proctor.² He married Jessey Eliza Bartley.² He died on 24 October 1860 at age 51 at Brighton, Sussex, England, from diptheria.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 8th Bengal Native Infantry.¹

     From before 1839, her married name became Hodson.¹ From 30 November 1839, her married name became Strange.

     Lumisden Strange was born in 1844 at Madras, India.^1,2 He was the son of Thomas Lumisden Strange and Mary Rose Tickell.³ He married Alice Sibylla Rideout, daughter of Colonel John Wood Rideout and Amy Ledwell Taylor, on 13 September 1871 at Ootacamund, Madras, India.^1,2 He died on 9 April 1887 at Bromley, Kent, England.²

     Colonel John Wood Rideout was born in 1827 at France.³ He married Amy Ledwell Taylor.³ He died on 13 December 1904 at Kensington, London, England.³

     Alice Sibylla Rideout was born on 15 May 1852 at India.² She was the daughter of Colonel John Wood Rideout and Amy Ledwell Taylor.^3,4 She married Lumisden Strange, son of Thomas Lumisden Strange and Mary Rose Tickell, on 13 September 1871 at Ootacamund, Madras, India.^1,2 She died on 25 October 1897 at age 45 at Folkestone, Kent, England.²
     From 13 September 1871, her married name became Strange.

     Cecilia Anstruther Strange was born on 11 May 1875 at Madras, India.² She was the daughter of Lumisden Strange and Alice Sibylla Rideout.³ She married Herbert E. Rawlings in April 1899 at Kensington, London, England.² She died on 9 March 1938 at age 62 at Chichester, Sussex, England.²
     From April 1899, her married name became Rawlings.²
